At about 8:00 AM of January 19, 2023, P/CDT PASCUAL, together with P/CDT SOSITO and P/CDT ILUSTRISIMO, conducted their office familiarization and observation of functions, duties, and responsibilities of the Operations Section of Pasig CPS.

PCPT EDMARD OLMEDO - Deputy Chief of Operations Section, with the supervision of PMAJ EMIL DS GARCIA, Chief Operations Officer-Pasig CPS, shared his knowledges and experiences to the cadets regarding the duties and functions of this section. He emphasized that when duty calls, there should be an immediate response.

PCPT OLMEDO also mentioned that “Strict observance of coordination to the adjacent units and early deployment of personnel in their respective posts” are just a few examples of the best practices in their section. In addition to that, he said that every person must be flexible and resourceful as well when in times that situation dictates.

The cadets also learned about “Pulis Sa Barangay,” which is one of the existing practices of the station wherein respective personnel of Pasig CPS Sub-Stations are rendering their duties in barangays to increase police visibility in different areas.

The Operations Section of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of police operations. The main goal of the Operations Section is to maintain public safety and order within the community.

Lastly, this section provided us PNPA cadets with exposure to real-world policing situations. By observing and participating in actual police operations, we gained valuable insights into the challenges and complexities of law enforcement. During the immersion, we realized that resourcefulness is vital to the section. It taught us on how resourcefulness allows the cadets to develop the skills and creativity needed to solve problems effectively. When faced with challenging situations, resourceful cadets can think creatively and find practical solutions.

Being resourceful also enables the cadets to adapt to changing circumstances and to work effectively in different environments. By being resourceful, we can adjust our strategies and tactics to respond to evolving situations and challenges. It would also help the cadets to be more efficient in their work. By finding ways to accomplish tasks with limited resources.[1] Lastly, resourcefulness can foster innovation and new ideas among the cadets by thinking outside the box and experimenting with new approaches, cadets can develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
